Untung Baca Kontan

Kontan sendiri berawal dari format tabloid cetak. Yang unik, tabloid Kontan ada tiga versi, yaitu harian, mingguan, dan bulanan. Ketiga versi ini menyajikan ulasan bisnis dan investasi dengan kedalaman yang berbeda.Versi harian untuk terus mengupdate pembaca. Versi mingguan biasanya menyoroti lebih dalam sebuah topik yang lagi hangat. Dan versi bulananlah yang memberikan kupas tuntas tentang sebuah topik tertentu, seperti reksa dana dan segala seluk beluknya. Jadi, kalau investor short term perlu baca versi harian. Kalau investor mid term dan long term perlu baca versi mingguan. Sedangkan, versi bulanan mengupas tuntas banyak topik wajib buat semua tipe investor.

Namun, pertama kali saya bertemu Kontan adalah di internet lewat webnya, http://www.kontan.co.id. Waktu itu menu dan fiturnya belum sebanyak sekarang dan saya paling suka membaca versi e-paper http://epaper.kontan.co.id/, yaitu versi elektronik tabloid cetaknya. Kontan memang selalu mengikuti teknologi, setelah tampil di internet muncul juga versi mobile lewat http://mobile.kontan.co.id, dan bahkan kini tersedia Kontan versi iPad http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/kontan/id420094482. Web Kontan juga sempat didesain ulang dan muncul fitur-fitur baru. Saya suka dengan EXPERTS GO BLOGGING http://blog.kontan.co.id/, yang memang artikel up-to-date dari para ahli investasi. Pas banget.

Inovasi yang terus-menerus ini membuktikan komitmen Kontan untuk terus maju dan menjadi yang terdepan di antara pesaingnya. Dan hebatnya semua fitur elektronik bisa dinikmati pembaca dengan gratis! Namun, belakangan saya malah merasa tidak nyaman lagi membaca kontan.co.id karena layout webnya menjadi sangat ramai dan membingungkan. Mungkin Kontan bisa menata ulang layoutnya agar pembaca bisa dengan cepat menemukan informasi yang dicarinya. Lebih baik lagi jika bisa menawarkan informasi secara personal dan kontekstual sesuai kebutuhan masing-masing pengunjung. Mirip dengan yang dilakukan facebook ketika menyarankan link profil seseorang yang mungkin kita kenal.

Memang benar kalau mau untung, harus baca Kontan.

heroes

I have been watching the heroes, TV series since season one and quite fond of it. This series gave away some new perspectives about the word “heroes” itself. It is really something compare to seeing marvel’s super heroes parade (note superman, batman, spidey, etc).

Usually in this kind of story, we all idolize the good guy and mock on the bad guy. This is the story where everything is as clear as black and white. Unfortunately, real life doesn’t always have that luxury. Something that the heroes series is closer to. Suddenly you might find life is grey. And while you get older you find more greyness, like your hair for instance

And I’m thinking it is only sane that we take advise from good guys, but it is also not that insane to take advise from the bad guys. As I watched Heroes season 3, Chapter Three — Building 26 I find this scene particularly interesting because of these lines by Sylar. Yes, Sylar is the dreadful brain man who eats brain belongs to other people with abilities to have their powers. Being a successful villain from season 1 to 4 while others get killed less than 1 season he must have something.

In this scene he was trying to teach something to a young rascal with abilities. This was what he spill out:

I find this is a very nice advice to get a direction on what ever that you’re doing. Though I think “negative emotions make you sloppy” is more appropriate. We all need and crave for positive emotions, like happiness and love. I also think “always know what it is that you want” part is a difficult thing to do since we usually got ourselves lost somewhere in the middle of the journey.

The second is by using stylish firefox addon, but that makes it limited only to firefox.

Although, these ways can change the looks of your facebook profile, but these changes will only appear to those who have install certain addon use to modify the layout. And you can’t really decide how the modification will be. Since you don’t have the ability to make your own layout by first hand. You are only given access to pick your desired one from a library of predefined layout. Well, at least this is the best thing we can do. Since facebook still making us to stuck with their blue and white minimalism

Anne Hathaway

Last week I watched The Princess Diaries, the first serial. I’ve been looking for Anne Hathaway’s movies since I watched The Devil Wears Prada. She’s so gorgeous. The Princess Diaries was produced at 2001, but she still looks young as ever.

Well, I’m not a fan of a girlie-girlie things, but the movie turned out to be a fine one. What I want to share is that in the movie there was a scene when the main character, Mia read a letter from her father for her 16th birthday.

Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgemRegenerate Thumbnailsent that something else is more important than fear. The brave may not live forever, but the cautious do not live at all. From now on, you’ll be traveling the road between who you think you are and who you can be. The key is to allow yourself to make the journey.

This is a very good quote, almost like a poem. It said that you don’t have to eliminate all your fears to be brave. And sometimes you must be brave enough to take a chance, to live this live. If you always be cautios in everything and never take action you won’t experience anything. It’s alright to fail, to fall, and to live. It really makes you think about how you take actions in life and how you should abandon your fears for important things in your live
