The World Of Publishing, from My Perspective
It’s easy to guess what I’m about to tell you in this presentation just by reading the title. I’m not bragging anything since I’ve been involved in the world of publishing as a writer only about a year. Just another newbie, but I guessed I must be doing something right. Because I’ve got to speak in public using this presentation twice in the same week actually. Pretty neat, eh? Killing two birds with one stone.
The first was at a seminar, “The World of Publishing: Good script is not enough!”. It was a seminar to introduce the term writerpreneur and a series of writing workshop by Elex Media Komputindo and BINUS UNIVERSITY. So first, Mr. Aluisius Arisubagjo (Vice Director PT Elex Media Komputindo) and Whindy Yoevestian (my editor) was explaining about the publishing world from the publisher perspective and the workshop. Then what was amazing was I got to be on the same stage as Safir Senduk as speakers. Yes, we were both sharing our experiences as a writer. Here are some pictures from the seminar.

I was surprised that this time the audiences were already amateur writers. It was already at the end of the session, so I have to make an extra effort to spark the audience. Well, I used some tricks I picked up when watching Safir Senduk’s presentation before.

Step by Step Facebook, The Presentation
This is the presentation that I made for my Step by Step Facebook talk shows. It’s the final version after continuous revision. I tried to make it different than the regular pointer bullet by bullet boring presentation, although it still got some in it.

Step by Step Facebook, The Talk Show
From March to May I’ve been busy with talk show schedule for my book, Step by Step Facebook. I’ve been traveling from one Gramedia book store to another (Gramedia at Ciputra Mall, Matraman, and Summarecon Mall Serpong) and the last one was on Education Expo @ Main Lobby, SuperMall Karawaci.
I didn’t have many public speaking experiences, so it’s a new challenge for me. Thankfully, everything came up pretty good. Thanks to Elex Media Komputindo (my editor, Whindy, Willys, Hugo), Gramedia book store, and of course Ru and Lenny.

Courage is Not The Absence of Fear
Anne Hathaway
Last week I watched The Princess Diaries, the first serial. I’ve been looking for Anne Hathaway’s movies since I watched The Devil Wears Prada. She’s so gorgeous. The Princess Diaries was produced at 2001, but she still looks young as ever.
Well, I’m not a fan of a girlie-girlie things, but the movie turned out to be a fine one. What I want to share is that in the movie there was a scene when the main character, Mia read a letter from her father for her 16th birthday.
